In 2005, the State of Maine changed their Recreational-Use Statues to include both railroads and utilities as owners of land that might be opened for recreational use.

In 2009, Massachusetts changed their statues to mirror the changes in Maine.  In both New Hampshire and Connecticut there are bills in the current legislatures there.
